Work work work..

So today it was mainly a task setup day. We started working at 7am because Josh was there to level our excavations from the small house. The vast amount of dirt we dug out from the foundation was put in neat piles on the property. What we didn't need we have leveled so it will be under the bigger house later on. We left some piles still so that we can backfill the foundation walls later after the tank is done.

Josh finished around noon with his project. We were meanwhile all morning long measuring out the house foundation on the newly compacted base course. It's a much raiser task now that the weeds are gone, etc. Measuring from a sloped hill and other points in the jungle to get our house points is easier said then done. We are nearly done and were waiting for our engineer give us some more points that we asked for. We are frequently using Pythagoras triangle formula to figure out our exact points. Nice to see even all these years later it still works. :)

While we were waiting for our new dimensions we started to lay out some slab formwork. Josh pointed out that we should use some forming stakes and not only our 2x4 supports. His reasoning was sound. He said we can bring the forms up to level with each other easier and then use our triangle system to hold them in place. Good idea and not much added cost.
