So it was about time to finally tighten some bolts. The Hilti anchor bolts needed to be torqued to 60 lb's of force. So we had to purchase a torque wrench so get the exact force needed. The screw is quite large, it is 15/16 inch in size. We tightened only the bolts towards the inside of the house which are imbedded in more concrete. The ones closer to the edge we will leave till later. We are worried that it might crack the still new concrete there and its plenty strong with only two bolts fully tightened and two just hand tightened.
The next set of bolts needing tightening were the top through bolts on our big beams. I tightened those to 30lbs force, since that seemed a reasonable number. You could see the steel U plate press against the big beam very nicely with this force. I am not sure what the screws are rated for either, so I don't want to risk breaking any.
Tomorrow we will finally setup our scaffolding we picked up today. This will make our life much safer and easier to work with our roof.
