We've received several worried emails and phone calls from people all over the world regarding the lava. I ask everyone relax as there is no concern here. It's been on-going since 1983 so this is nothing new. I encourage everyone to check out the official website regarding this here:

These events are taking place over 50km or more from where we are. There is never a danger of an event like Pompeii here since this is a very different type of volcano. I would classify this type of natural disaster as the least worrisome. People generally have weeks to prepare to evacuate.
