Inspected.. not passed.. sort of..

So overall we had a good inspection experience with our lady inspector. Very little misses this lady indeed. She will be out tomorrow again to inspect a minor variance. We did not have enough overlap between the rebars when they were connected. We used 1 foot overlap and the lady wants 40 times the material thickness. So this is what we need to use:

- 25 inch for #5 bars (5/8 inch material)

- 20 inch for #4 bars (1/2 inch material)

- 15 inch for #3 bars (3/8 inch material)

So we need to review some of the material where we overlapped and beef some sections up. Our engineer feels this is totally overkill and too conservative, but what can I tell her. Maximum a couple of hours of work.

Tomorrow she will want to inspect these and then we pass.
