Inside walls..

We finally built the final larger section of inside wall. The inside walls are 2x4 material. Some are straight and some are curved. Tomorrow we will finish off a small section of an outside wall on the middle bedroom which buts up against the sliding door. We will also build the sliding door wall section as well. The door will be 96 inches x 92 inches in size. It will be considerable high quality with stainless steel hardware, made from aluminium, bearings which are made in Switzerland, etc. Since this is the main entrance door, it will receive plenty of wear and tear and should hold up with the least amount of maintenance.

I'm trying to track down the necessary cedar siding also, which is proving to be problematic. They have run out of material on the island and it looks I need to ship it from California. After shipping costs, the price will be similar to buying it here. The look we are trying to achieve is what you see here on Craig Steely's "Gypsy House" design. Take a look here:

and the inside will look like this with a pine finish:

Final living room window wall.

We used 6 inch and 10 inch screws here to hold the beam in place.

Built wall on ground and lifted it into place. Not many we could do this with.

Final large bedroom inside wall finished.
