Tar roofing..

Eventually we will have a metal roof (already arrived and waiting for us), however for the moment this tar paper will be our roof. This will add another layer of sound proofing as well as protect against possible moisture / water. Though the steel roof should never leak and literally lasts forever, one can never be too safe I guess. I would like to very put a 1 inch layer of rigid foam insulation above this layer and the steel roof. The problem is on this island the cost is astronomical. What costs $24 in California here costs $60 for the same thing. No idea why. So I might ship in the material then from California for the whole house like I am doing with the western red cedar siding material.

Preventing wind from occasionally blowing away our tar paper.

Built a sort of channel to funnel the rain away from the kitchen area, as best as possible. We will put a temporary gutter system there shortly also.
