Rim board placement..

After going through and attaching all the sandwich 2x4 material, we then bring our scaffolding back and start with our rim board. This is serious material as you can see from the picture below. Its 1 1/4 inch (3.17cm) thick, laminated stuff. Its very sturdy and also rather expensive. Its size is the same as the floor joist, 14 inches (35.5cm). We clamp the rim board in place and then put 6 nails to hold it to the sandwich.

The large missing sections you see will be the curved round, half circles which need to be cut still. This is where the tree will grow up. The type of tree will be the Italian Cyprus. You can google it for more info besides the link I provided. These grow to a max 40 feet  (12.5 m) and 5 feet (1.5m) wide.

All the front rim boards in place. Thats 246 nails holding it there in all.
