Tyvek...

So we started putting our Tyvek on our house today. The process went faster then I expected, and we finished about 90% in less then a day. We just have bits and pieces where our Tyvek didn't reach, etc. We unrolled the large sections onto the house first. You use special plastic head nails to keep the Tyvek in place. The slope of roof really doesn't allow you to unroll the material like you normally would, because you end up going downhill. Which is fine I guess, since our material is shorter then our roof height we will go back and fill in the missing section. They sell a special tape to join the seams. The windows are covered over on the house and then you go back and cut the material and fold it in. There is also a special product called "Proteco Wrap"which we will use on the bottom, edge and top of the window. This will seal the window totally from any water which would run down the outside wall from accumulating or penetrating behind the Tyvek.
